When I look at one of the normal days, the most things are regular thinks, where you do not learn anymore. You do it every day. Standing up, showering, drive to the train station, go by train to Hamburg and the other normal things in live. You have learned them once, but now there is no learning any more.

I think the real learning on a normal day is in university and at work.

As a softwareengineer the most learning is I think cognitivism. When you want to program something, you first look at the code or in the internet, if someone else has programmed it similar. If so, you look what you have to change and copy it. An other way is to ask the others how you could deal with problems is to ask someone how already programmed a similar thing.

An other way you also always use is I think the connectivism because when you want to change the code or write new one it is a little of connecting older experiences to create a new one.

At university I think it is also a mix of connectivism and cognitivism. You learn from other people, but without connecting your older experiences and knowledge you would have many problems in the university.

Last week we had this online session. It was very interesting to use the new media for the seminar, but it was also very difficult and I know now, where the difficulties lie to make a online seminar session. First of all there was the bad quality of Skype with so much people speaking. After all the sound make noises that after all I became headache from it and have problems to concentrate me.

Perhaps there are other, better possibilities. An other problem was, that there were many background sound during the session, depending of where the people take part on this session. This is difficult to make better, because everywhere you take part, could be noise. In rooms in the university where you had to be quiet, you can not speak. And in rooms where you can speak, everybody also has also the right to make noises.

The program to share the monitor view was OK. It was not as perfect as I thought, but we could work with this.

So in the last session I felt more like in a test as in a seminar session. But it was a nice experience.

Hi.

Today I want to explain you how we created our elearning unit and which problems are there.

First we had to decide how we present our work and in which way we will present it.

So we used the first seminar to meet and discuss this. We decided to use a wiki, because we can work on it simultaneity and the other people in the course can read it easily afterward. The homework for the next session, we decided to inform us a little bit about eportfolios and try to create a directory everyone. The next seminar session we meat with our directories and discuss and create a directory for our topic. During the session I implemented it in the wiki and we decided who will write which part. We could use the seminar-wiki so we don’t had to create the plattform. The writing was so easy and I think there are much of other good howtos for how to use a wiki, so I will not describe this part here. We also had to use the wiki two times in the seminar till now, so everyone had to know how to work with a wiki.

The problem of working over the internet and not meet very often all the people had to be motivated. You had not much control over the work of the others. If you meet them they had to justify their doing. If you ask them per mail or over internet it is easier to say “I had no time till now” or just giving no answer.

Hilsen, Björn

Hi.

I have make some thoughts to Task No. 2

There are MANY Definitions of e-learning in the Internet. Google finds 924.000 hit when u are searching “elearning definition”. So I read some… some more…. a lot. But I think the two definitions I’ll choose are the one Derek Stockley.

He said:

The delivery of a learning, training or education program by electronic means. E-learning involves the use of a computer or electronic device (e.g. a mobile phone) in some way to provide training, educational or learning material. (Derek Stockley 2003)

I think this definition is very general, but it hits the main point I think: Education with electronic help.

So this definition is very short, but it is neutral.

The second definition I have chosen, is from a german university. So if you cannot understand any german you can use babelfish. I proved the translation and I think it is ok, and you can get the point of this definition.

You can read it here.

It is more special like the first definition and so also a little longer. This is think is the positive thing of this definition….. BUT I think it is not really neutral. In the beginning the text trys to be neutral, but on the other hand there are only the good things of e-learning present. So the reader must thing, that e-learning has NO disadvantages. Also in the end of the text there is no disadvantage presented.

So thats why I like the first definition more. It is a neutral and serious definition without presenting advantages or disadvantages.

So, have a nice day.

Björn

Hi everyone.

Here now my thoughts to Task 1.

Because of my studies to a computer science teacher i have had many contact to e-learning systems.

There are systems like educommsy, moodle, stine, blackboard.stine and now a blog.

First of all, I hat to say, that it was to much different systems.

In one of my practicals in school, the school used a moodle system as a e-learning platform for its pupils. I think it wasn’t bad, but I haven’t used it much.

In the educational courses the mostly used system is educommsy. I think it isn’t the best platform, but it is ok. I’m using it, but because of the restricted use by the educational courses I don’t use it gladly.

My hopes lies a little bit in stine and stine.blackboard, because every course had a connection to stine. In some educational courses and the geographical courses I had to used it and I think it is ok and it should be nice because every course could use it.

The blog is a new system and I think it is a nice idea, because a lot of students and pupil have already a blog.

Hilsen, Björn
